Poetry Day
On National Poetry Day, pupils wrote poems all about ‘One’.
Pupils wrote poems all about what makes them unique and special.
See below some example of the lovely poems pupils wrote.
Sports Leaders
Sports Leaders have completed some leaders training with Mrs Thompson. They learnt lots of fabulous games to play with the younger children on the playground, using all the leadership skills they have learnt to organise and support pupils playing the games.
They will continue to lead sports on the play ground at lunchtime, following their rota.
Remembrance
It was so wonderful to see such as great turn out from Year 4 at this year's Remembrance parade.
It was an extra special day for Millie-Jane, who took part in the Remembrance Service in church, saying a reading as part of the service. She did such a wonderful job. Well done!
Anglo-Saxons and Vikings
Pupils in Year 4 have really enjoyed their History topic answering the big question 'How did England change after the settlement of the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings?'
We have written a song called 'We are the Anglo-Saxons!' to celebrate our learning and share some of the amazing facts we have learnt.
We are the Anglo-Saxons! (Please click the link to the video).
Young Writers Association Poetry Competition
During Poetry week this year, Pupils from Year 4 got the opportunity to write their own poem as an entry into the Young Writers Association poetry competition, with the them of 'Wonderverse'.
Ten pupils choose to enter a poem, all of which have had their poems chosen to go into the 'Wonderverse' published poetry book!
What an amazing achievement this is for some very talented young writers. Well done to all!
Below you can see them with their certificates, bookmarks and stickers!
