Our Learning This Term
 
Our Spring term topic web can be found below. This outlines the learning that we will cover for each subject. 
Phonics
 
In Year 1, we will be exploring our Twinkl phonics scheme. We will enjoy exploring the alternative sounds and spelling rules,  taking part in a variety of activities to develop our understanding of these new sounds.

Science
 
In Science this term we have been answering the big question 'What are our bodies and what can they do?' and have begun by experimenting with the five senses. We explored our sense of sight by testing to see if our eyes worked better individually or together, explored our sense of smell by seeing if we could guess what was in the beakers and explored our sense of taste by trying foods that looked the same to see if they tasted different. We have had so much experimenting!
Class Worship
 
On Wednesday 9th April Year 1 led worship, sharing their learning with the whole school and their parents. They all used loud voices for the class song and poem, and the speakers spoke clearly and confidently. We are very proud of them.  ⭐
World Book Day.
 
To celebrate World Book Day this year, we came to school dressed as some of our favourite characters. Can you spot any characters?
 
DT
 
This term in DT lessons we are planning and making a healthy sandwich. We have researched healthy sandwich fillers and practised our knife skills using playdough. We made our sandwiches, and got to take them home to eat. They were delicious!
